Considering the environment of the world in this century, it is important to be familiar with a variety of different cultures and practices in order to establish a basic trust, friendship and dialogue with everyone and anyone around. With this goal set in their minds, the girls in the Young Peace Builders- a collaboration program of Brooklyn Amity School and Kings Bay Y took time off of their Sunday, February 21, 2016 to organize a mock Turkish Henna Night for people to learn about, and see in motion.

The event started off with a brief description of the tradition, and soon after was followed by the real practice. People were able to not only see this, but live and really feel and experience it too by participating. All this was accompanied by Turkish coffee, food, traditional dances, henna tattoos and most importantly, a friendly atmosphere. This event was a platform to form friendships and learn new cultures. It was a fun experience for all!
