The evening of November 21st , Monday. The Turkish cultural center Queens was a host to a very meaningful dinner. The Dinner has started with the pray by Rev.Joshua Hollman and Rev. K. Jeanne Person shared and explained the meaning and rituals of what thanksgiving means to the American people. The speech was informative and touching. Ibrahim Sayar, Director of interfaith Platform at the Peace Island Institute spoke about the perspective of giving thanks in the Turkish culture . The two most important key factors and similarities of both views was that the abundant amount of blessings that God has given us and how little we appreciate and also, gathering with friends and family and sharing our foods with the less fortunate. The environment was a cozy setting where people from different walks of life came together sat on the same table and enjoyed a meal while keeping in mind the less fortunate.
