We are dedicated to bringing together people from diverse backgrounds. We have different upbringings, heritages, cultures and histories but come together and share in the common hope and faith that people can understand, accept and learn from each other with a goal of peace.

As one of the most prominent and sensitive issues of not only Turkey, but also of international relations, scholars have discussed the current challenges and future prospects of Turkey. On March 15, 2013, Turkish Cultural Center Queens, Peace Islands Institute and St. Johns University held a conference hosted by the St. Johns University regarding Turkey’s Kurdish question. The Conference had two panels, with three panelists on each panel. During the conference, the role of every panelist was to present a view on Turkey’s Kurdish Question and suggest a solution to this problem.

Turkish Cultural Center of Queens held one of its most symbolic inter-faith events on Thursday March 14, 2013.
TCC Queens hosted approximately 75 guests of mixed back grounds and a panel of 3 mothers Mary McKnight, Chumi Lerman, and Deniz Ozbudak who are each strongly devoted to their own religion and posed the same question to each of them to answer. The question, “Can We Give our Children Strong Religious Identities Without Condemning Others?”

session7marchWelcome back everyone to March Session of Cooking Class.We had 6 new students which whom our other 10 were previous students which helped welcome them and make them feel comfortable.The favorite food of the night!!  eggplant..All our participants were very happy that we were cooking an eggplant dish   We are done another delicious cooking class session.. We even forgot to take a picture while people were eating, we were so busy of eating.. We are looking forward to seeing everyone next month.

6th cooking_session1

Welcome back to yet another full house of eager to learn students..All the students were greeted with a warm and welcoming environment decorated specially with hearts and love.This months menu was once again filled with delicious Turkish food. All of our students were excited and patiently waited to stuff the pepper, chop the onions, mix the sauce and place the cookies. And even some helped..The class as usual was a fun and friendly one. Everyone talked about different experiences they have had trying to make recipes from previous classes they have taken.
